Hi, I really want to adopt my step-son. I was planning on doing this with tax money but things are kinda shaky between me and my husband. I have NO credit. How can I get help paying for the adoption?

If things are shaky between you and your husband you should rethink the adoption unless you are planning to get divorced and pay your husband child support.

is the fathers ex paying child support? because if she is, the moment you adopt, child support is canceled that is why my step-dad never adopted me, so that my mom would still get paid child support from my real dad.

Okay, what am I missing here? You want to adopt your step son, but things are shaky between your husband and yourself????
First of all, one of the steps in ANY adoption, whether it is for a step child or through an agency etc. is financial stability…and well… so, before you get all worked up…you need to talk to your local social services office and they will tell you the steps.
You need to be able to provide a stable atmosphere for this child. Think about this very carefully.

If things are shakey between you and your husband, why in the world would you want to adopt your step-son?
To do so, you would have to pay for it on your own.

If things are shakey the case study will reject you. Wait it out a bit and build up the relaionship while you save money.
PS you will also get a tax deduction for part of the costs of the adoption. Just FYI

Well, if you adopt a child, your credit will get a lot tougher… Dont adopt at this moment. Wait until you have the right creit

its no good adopting if your relationship is shaky….adoption is a big thing to a child and they to know that things are stable at home,you could adopt him and then split with your husband…what good is that going to do that child…just stay a step mum….i hope your not thinking about adopting the boy just to save your marriage as thats no way to do it.
think about what your going to do very hard before you do anything as this child does not need the emotional heartache its going to cause.
