I know I can ask my doctor or google it, but I wanna know people’s personal experiences. At what week did you start dilating, if at all?
This is my 2nd pregnancy, and I heard you dilate faster than with your first.
I am currently 33 weeks preggo

i am 38 weeks and dialated 1 cm. Im effaced 50 %
effaced is when your cervix is thinned out
it has to be 100%thinned and dialated 10 cm before the baby can be born,

My cervix stayed slammed shut until I was 40-1/2 weeks. At that point, I was open 2cm, max. I was scheduled for an induction on the day I would have been exactly 41 weeks, but I went into labor the day before. My labor hit me so quickly – I had contractions coming every 3-5 minutes within one hour. By the time I got to the hospital, I was already open 5cm. It was my first pregnancy. Best of luck!

With my first pregnancy I was first checked at 36 weeks, no dialation. 37-39 weeks 1 cm. I was induced at 39 weeks bc of high blood pressure. With my 2nd pregnancy I was checked at 36 weeks, 1 cm dialated. 37-38 weeks I was 2 cm. I was induced at 38 weeks bc of high blood pressure. I’m not 26 wks pregnant with our 3rd baby and very curious to see how it turns out!

When I was 36 weeks, I dilated to a 1-2 and my baby had already dropped immensely. It was my first pregnancy.

With my baby my contractions started after the second time they gave me the inducing gel – she really really didn’t want to come out! In fact even after the contractions started AND they broke my water I still didn’t dilated! It wasn’t until the epidural and the stronger drugs that made me dilated.
Yeah, she was fun!

I was dilated to 1cm at 36 weeks and was in labor and didn’t even know it. LOL. But yes labor is usually much quicker with the second baby and gets shorter with having more babies. Your body has had to do it before, so now it knows what to do and what to expect. The first pregnancy and labor/delivery is kind of like a practice run and after you’ve done it once it only gets easier every time you have to do it.

I’m seeing a mid wife rather than a doc, and they dont check that beacuse its just another exam that has a chance to cause an infection and it dosent mean that you will be going it to labor any time soon
