I am about 6 days late for my period. I took a pregnancy test this afternoon ( with little pee), and it was negative. Could i have just tested at the wrong time?

In the morning with your first urine of the day. Your urine is more concentrated at that time so it’s easier to detect the HcG hormone.

they say that first thing in the morning but that is really if you are testing before your missed period because the hormone levels are lower. they go up drastically fast after your missed period and you should be able to take the test anytime you need to pee. then if you want to check again use a second test in the morning. I took mine the day before my missed period and it only took seconds for the positive to pop up! I took the second one the next morning to make sure

In the morning do a midstream pee- that’s where you pee a little bit first into the toilet,then catch the test pee and then do the rest in the toilet.
Sometimes the hormones are to low in early pregnancy so wait another few days and if there is still no sign of your period then test again-if it is still negative then go to your doctors for a blood test,they are 100% accurate.

Yeah you probably tested wrong. To get the best results you need to use first morning urine since that is the time in which your HCg hormone level will be the highest (that is the hormone that is present in urine when you are pregnant). Don’t drink a lot of fluids before taking the test either because that can dilute your level of the HCg hormone and give you inaccurate results. Good luck!

Not that its the wrong time, but the best time of the day is with the morning urine ( your first pee of the day) because it has the highest concentration of hormones in it ( and thats what ur testing for hcg- pregnancy hormone)
id take another one in the morning and if its still negative id wait a week and take one again

yes, espiecially if you did not have enough pee for it! Best time to test is in morning first time you go, the hormones are more cencentrated then. Sometimes its hard for the test to go correctly peeing on the stick… try peeing in a plastic cup and testing that way.

I took one at night and it was positive and I took one in the morning and it was positive.

This many days late it shouldn’t matter when you test. But next time take it first thing after you wake up in the morning.

First thing in the morning, the HCG level is strongest with first morning urine.

you should take it when you frist get up..take it the first time you go to the bathroom.

if you want an accurate result YOU HAVE TO DO IT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING when your urine is concentrated.
