I was just thinking about getting a job working at an adoption agency but I don’t even know what types of jobs are offered at one. Anyone else know?

I have a masters in social work and I’m an adoption specialist. I do home studies and child assessments.
Most states require social workers to be licensed. In order to be licensed most states require that you have a masters in social work (not sociology or psychology …. social work….thus the title social worker).
Most agencies will want at least a bachelors degree. My agency does clerical support and other people without degrees. We also have attorneys and such.

There are many. You might check out some agency’s in your area and call up and ask if you can come in and talk to them. That you are looking to maybe get into this field, they can tell you about jobs in this field as well as any criteria or degrees you would need in this positions.

Social worker is the main one. Maybe you can also volunteer to work with first mothers. You would take them to their doctors appointments, take them grocery shopping, or just about anywhere they need to go.

I’m think the position most needed would be a sales one…
You know? To sell adoption to the “birthmother”, to sell the PAPs to the “birthmother”, to sell the child to the PAP’s, etc.
You know with my sales background maybe I should be making fat cash too! Or not since I have morals and values.
