I’m really interested what others think about this celebrity adoption trend. Starts are adopting from different countries and cultures, and almost non of the children will learn anything about their origins and traditions. Of course, in some cases they will, e.g. the Jolie-Pitts celebrate every important occasions /they have adopted babies from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia if I know well/ of the countries they adopted from. I think they do it right. I’m personally not against this celebrity adoption, as rich and famous give a better life to these orphans. Now, what are your thoughts?

He’s an only child who feels connected to his dad. Though his parents are quite stiff. His mom doesn’t really talk very much and his dad talks a bit. Both parents lack self-esteem and confidence, but seem to be authoritarian. The child isn’t given any chores to do, but is expected to do exceptionally well on school work. The child is hardly ever complemented on the work he does, and is instead pointed out on the flaws of his work. His family is Catholic.

i mean, i see people on here ALL the time complaining about how their significant other parents in a way that is unacceptable to them. well, you decided to have kids with them and the kids ARE half theirs….so why does your opinion matter more than theirs?
its like something so stupid as to argue over a movie your SO lets your kids watch. if they’re not being hurt, they’re fed, and they’re content then what is the big deal?
what im getting at is, if you chose to have kids with someone knowing the kids are half theirs….why does your opinion matter more?

I am a student and I want to plan my pregnancy so that I deliver during vacation. What are some tips to do that; with irregular periods?
[If you will lecture me about how I should not plan when to get my baby; please save your breath].

I am in reunion with my older brother who was given up for adoption. We just met 4 months ago, and I had just found out about him even existing. We have become close, and I am looking for some good upbeat quotes about the connection of a brother and sister.

Other than taking the child out of his or her home country, why is international adoption frowned upon as an alternative to adopting in the US?
