Does Anyone Know Of Some Adoption Agencies That Allow For Younger Parents To Adopt? Like Ages 18-24?

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

I would love to do an international adoption! It’s just something I’ve always dreamed about. I’ve read on several websites and most of them only allow people 25+ to apply, sometimes 30+. Since the wait can normally be so long I’d like to apply a year or two before then. Does anyone know of international agencies that allow this? If not, it’s really not a problem. I’ll just wait. Any advice on international adoption would be appriciated. Thank you!

When Raising Kids Do Any Parents Read Parenting Books?

Friday, February 12th, 2010

I know there are a lot of parenting books out there, child psychology books, baby and me, etc. I know there are psychological theories about the stages that a child goes through when growing up, and I am a firm believer of it. Do any parents agree? And the ones that do, do you find the books helpful? And the ones that don’t, why? I talked to my mom, and she told me that she never read any of those books, and well I turned out just fine! I’m going to medical school and going to be a doctor soon.

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

My husband and I were debating this a few nights ago. What age was your child that you found to be the most stressful, difficult, confusing on you as a parent? Does the age differ between girls and boys?

How Do You Respond To Parents Who Make You Feel Like You Have To Defend Your Parenting Decisions?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

I know I let a parent get under my skin yesterday. And I should have just walked away when she was basically attacking my choice for something about my child, that I know is right for him. But she did the opposite for her child. And in the future, I will just walk away, instead of getting into a disagreement with her. Just curious what other parents do in situations where you feel verbally attacked by other parents.

Do You Think An Ap Should Return A Child To The Bio Parents If The Adoption Wasn’t Legal Or Ethical?

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Say for example, the agency was a shady adoption agency doing something illegal or the adoption wasn’t ethical such as the biological father’s permission wasn’t obtained, and one of the bio parents wants the child back, should they return the child without protest?
I’ve seen cases like this in the media, and the AP’s fought it and dragged the case out in court for years. What do you think the right thing to do would be?

When Are Parents Going To Start Parenting Again And Stop Blaming Others?

Im so sick of hearing how parents are blaming content providers such as myspace and yahoo for allowing sexual predators to conduct their business. IMHO its the parents faul for not monitoring their children. I would love to hear what others think about this.

How Do I Ask My Parents About My Adoption?

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I want to know more about my adoption. My parents have never kept it a secret or avoided talking about it really but I would like to know what information, if any, they had about me, etc.
How do I go about asking them? I feel like they will think I am not happy with them which is DEFINATELY not it. I just would like to know more.
