I have been adopted by my God mother, who is a German citizen. I am 18 years old (the adoption did not take place until my 18th birthday). Is it possible for me to lay claim to German citizenship?
According to all the information online, it seems as that you can only gain citizenship if you were adopted before age 18. Surely there must be some way around this?
