I’ve been watching the secret life of an american teenager, and I was just curious….Does a minor father have to sign papers in order for the minor mother to put her child up for adoption? Does he have to sign away his fatherly rights? Or is it just the minor mothers decision?

Say for example, the agency was a shady adoption agency doing something illegal or the adoption wasn’t ethical such as the biological father’s permission wasn’t obtained, and one of the bio parents wants the child back, should they return the child without protest?
I’ve seen cases like this in the media, and the AP’s fought it and dragged the case out in court for years. What do you think the right thing to do would be?

I ask because I’m currently the foster parent of 2 children who face the distinct possibility of not returning to their biological parents.
We have a great connection and bond, and both children are very happy and settled. What are some ideas for making sure they stay connected to their biological origins/family?
Thanks in advance.

I have conceived a child with a woman who has a history of severe depression and suicide attempts. She has no job, no savings, no education, and lives with her parents. And yet she refuses to consider giving the child up for adoption.
Is is possible, in the state of Missouri, to force a woman with documented suicidal tendencies and no livelihood to give her unborn child up for adoption?

My 16 year old son has just informed me that his girlfriend is 3mo. preg. Her father is trying to convience the two that they need to place the baby up for adoption. What are his rights and do I have any say in this? Can the father push the paper work without my consent?

In my home state of Ohio there is a disturbing trend of adopting from overseas (mainly Russia) and then when the child is older putting them back into the system. My father just adopted one such girl and I may do the same. When adopting a child that has already had at least one disrupted adoption, what sort of emotional and trust issues should I be prepared to deal with?
