I’m 27 and my mom has been married to my “dad” for 26 years. I was wanting to do the adoption process but didn’t know if I needed to include the bio father or not. Haven’t spoke to him in years.

You Absolutely CAN be adopted as an adult in many states……. If your state allows it you don’t need any permission from your bio dad at all. He doesn’t even need to be notified…. I live in PA and our state allows adult adoption.. Good luck!

i think at 27 you cant be adopted. I am just starting to try and go through the process of my husband adopting my daughter, but i know that i have to get the bio father’s permission. even though he has to rights to her now. And my daughter is almost 4. But i think in your situation it would be really rare that someone your age get adopted by a step-parent. I am also in TX and I will let you know of the process as i figure it out unless you can figure it out first then can you let me know.

You are over 18, the bio father shouldn’t matter one way or another as his right to contest would have ended at 18… I’m pretty sure…

aren’t you a little bit too old old to be adopted? your a big boy now that your 27 years old, in most countries you would be considered an adult
