How To Relieve Nasal Stuffiness Associated With Pregnancy?

I know they say to take sudafed, but this only seems to semi-work and symptoms come back once medication wears off. Has anyone had really bad nasal stuffiness, where you are constantly blowing your nose or getting drainage down the throat? It is so annoying, and lasts throughout all of my pregnancy (having 3rd child). I need some better relief. Has anyone had medication/antibiotics prescribed for them for this?

Use a humidifier, saline nasal spray, or what has worked for me is a netty pot, its where you pour saline water in one nostril and it comes out the other. It seems to have worked the best for me. I also have a cold right now and used it to clear up my congestion and it has helped as well. I don’t really believe in medication during pregnancy so I haven’t even inquired about it.

nope dr said take sudafed, and if that doesnt work I could use afrin for temporary relief but that speeds the babys heartrate so I dont- I just suffer- not much more to do! :-(

quite frankly, you cant lol. its not just because of excess mucus, its more so due to the nasal membranes swelling during pregnancy

well the meds you can take don’t really help that much. try putting your head over steaming water and let it drain out. or put vix under your nose that helped me. other than that theres really nothing you can do but suffer through it.

I had constant dried out nasal passages. I’d blow my nose and everything would be bloody. The only thing that worked for me was steam. I’d hang a towel over my head and bend over a hot running faucet. It always felt so much better afterward.
