  1. Proud Says:

It doesn’t cost the birth mother a single penny. The adoption agency has funding from the government and the adoptive parents pay for the adoption process.

  2. blkmiss Says:

    It doesn’t cost anything.

  3. oldmanwi Says:

Give is free. getting is costly. They work on the buy low sell high principle.

  4. Anonymous Says:

The only cost is mental , there are no financial costs.

  5. Mom to Foster Children Says:

    it’s free

  6. Adoptive Says:

The birthmother pays nothing…if there would happen to be any cost for a birthmother, the adoptive family picks it up…so in no case is there a cost for birthmother.

  7. Doodlest Says:

Most birthmothers are stuck for the medical costs of birth as well as the nursery (contrary to what most are told). Giving up the child doesn’t cost anything further.

  8. RavenSco Says:

Also, a credible agency will offer counseling to the biological mother.

  9. BPD Wife Says:

There should be no costs incurred by a biological family who uses an adoption agency to find a loving permanent home for their child.
Good luck with the debate! Email me thru my profile if I can offer any other info about adoption for you.

your question is how much does it cost for the parent or how much they are paying the mother for giving up their child?

  11. Jo Says:

    nothing

If you are the birth parent giving up the child then it shouldn’t cost you a thing. If you give the child up to the state for placement, they will pay all of the costs. If you give the child to a private adoption agency, the adoptive parents usually cover the costs.
