DH and I are getting ourselves set for adoption. How much does a homestudy usually run? What does it involve?

That depends what state you are in and if you want a homestudy done for a domestic or international adoption. Fees can vary from $500 to $2000 depending on these factors. Call a few social workers your lawyer can recommend and ask what they charge.
The homestudy is really just a report on your family. For us, it was just answering questions about our marriage, family, background and the adoption process. It’s really not that bad at all. Good luck!
