I am just curious, because I swear that last night I felt the fetus move, but I am not sure, as it’s my first pregnancy. So, just wondering how far I’d have to be before I would be able to feel any movement.

With my first I was 4 months. If you think you felt it, now you will be more in tune with the stuff that’s happening down there. If you feel it a couple more times you’ll know for sure. With my second, I felt it at 12wks because when it happened, I knew the feeling and knew what it was. Congrats! Enjoy the flutters now cause the kick in the ribs during the middle of the night in a few months aren’t so inviting!

I first felt my baby move was at 21 weeks. Maybe there were some movement before that but I didn’t realize it until the 21st week. It was so amazing. I never stop talking to him since the I felt the first move until the very last moment of my pregnancy. He’s 8 months now.

With my first child i was about four maybe five months. It feels like a flutter in your stomach almost like a butterfly. It’s hard to know exactly in your first pregnancy because you’ve never felt it before. It’s always exciting just the thought of it isn’t it!

Usually in the 4th month of pregnancy you can feel what is called quickening. At first it feels like a soft flutter, like a butterfly is loose in your tummy, but later on you will definitely know its the baby, when he kicks you in the ribs or the bladder. Congratulations on the pregnancy. I hope you have an easy one and deliver a healthy child.

The average is 20 weeks. Some women, particularly those who are very slender or who have had children before, can feel the baby move sooner. Heavier women or first time moms sometimes don’t feel baby til later. Anything from 16-23 is still in the normal range.
