Get a lawyer who does this kind of thing. Is it she can't have babies or just doesn't want to? Girls who give their babies up, Get to pick the people who will be raising them and most likely wont want a person who can have their own.

Depends on what adoption is right for YOUR family, domestic, foster care or international. To good sites are: www.adoptuskids.org or www.rainbowkids.com
Best of luck to you!!!

Sorry to here about that. Hope things get better, but ultimately you will run into problems along the way. For us, it was the time it took to finally be able to say they were ours. Four years. The foster care system can be slow, but worth the wait.
Some states will differ, however, generally speaking anyone over the age of 18 can adopt, except for in the occasional state you must be 21 and still in others the minimum age is 25. I am not sure specifically why this is, but you can always ask in your state.http://www.child-adoption-matters.com

Just do some research-there are several reputable adoption agencies out there.
I do have one suggestion-if you and your wife feel adoption is right for you, dont spend too much time on yahoo answers,as there are a few who will say anything to talk you out of it. It is a shame, but on here it is a reality.
Good luck.

I live in Texas and we adopted two children through foster care. A lot depends on how you are planing to adopt, but if you are looking at foster-to-adopt you need to contact, or look for information on the web site of, the Texas Department of Family Protective Services. That is what my wife did.
What they will do is refer you to local organizations that contract with the state to run Foster Parent and Foster-to-Adopt services.
Note, right now, the Texas' courts are very careful about removing parental rights of biological parents. Some recent incidents (like with the polygamous sect) have made DFPS and the courts very gun shy.

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "false starts". Perhaps if you added clarification, you might get better answers.
